Brooke Vincent Joins Hollyoaks After Coronation Street

Brooke Vincent, renowned for her long-standing role as Sophie Webster on Coronation Street, has officially revealed her next career move. The actress, aged 33, is set to join the cast of Channel 4's popular soap opera Hollyoaks, marking a significant shift from her previous television home.

A New Chapter in Soap Opera History

Vincent portrayed Sophie Webster, the youngest daughter of Kevin and Sally Webster, for an impressive 15 years from 2004 to 2019. Her departure from Coronation Street was primarily due to maternity leave, as she welcomed her sons Mexx Monroe with footballer partner Kean Bryan. Now, she is trading the familiar streets of Weatherfield for the vibrant village of Chester in a major new acting role.

Exciting Announcement on Social Media

Sharing the news with her followers on Instagram, Brooke posted a photograph alongside the iconic Hollyoaks sign. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "So excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks for such a powerful storyline. I am so grateful for this opportunity to be back on screen playing a brand new character plus my family will be happy I’m back in a full time job haha!"

A source close to the production told The Sun, "Brooke is an amazing signing for the soap. She’s a great actress and she’s got a huge storyline coming – one that will surprise people. It's going to be really, really exciting as it all plays out."

Reflections on Coronation Street

Despite her new venture, Vincent has previously spoken fondly of her time on Coronation Street. In a past interview with the Mirror, she described the set as feeling like "home" and expressed openness to returning. She noted last year, "If they ask me, I’d love to go back and see them. It's a different type of job now we’ve got the boys. I’ve got a lot of friends there, it’s like my family."

She further elaborated on the balance between work and family life, saying, "It’s such a lovely place to work, so definitely, I feel like I’ve had such a long time off that I’ve been able to enjoy my children without the schedule of how hard it can sometimes be. I think obviously now they’re a bit older and they’re a bit more independent, and there’s obviously the opportunity to take on more work."

Anticipation Builds for New Role

Details about Brooke Vincent's character in Hollyoaks and the storyline remain under wraps, fueling speculation among fans. The soap airs Monday to Wednesday on E4 at 7pm, with first-look episodes available for streaming on Channel 4 from 7am each day.

This move highlights Vincent's continued prominence in the British television industry and her ability to transition between major soap operas, promising fresh and engaging content for viewers.
