Bradley Walsh Admits He Hasn't Watched The Chase in Years
Bradley Walsh's surprising The Chase confession

Beloved television presenter Bradley Walsh has shared a surprising admission about his long-running quiz show, The Chase, which he has fronted since its launch in 2009.

A Startling Confession About The Chase

In a recent interview with Radio Times magazine, Walsh was asked if he and his son, fellow TV host Barney Walsh, watch each other's programmes. The 65-year-old star revealed that he has not seen an episode of The Chase in a considerable amount of time.

He explained his absence from the audience, stating, "I haven't seen The Chase in years because I don't finish in the studio until five o'clock." Regarding his son's viewing habits, Bradley speculated, "I wouldn't imagine Barney watches The Chase, simply because of his filming schedule."

Barney, 28, who plays Cameron Mickelthwaite in BBC's Casualty, later clarified his own position. He told the magazine, "We finish filming around 7pm, so it's rare I'm home in time for The Chase, but when I've got time off and it's on, I do watch. I love it."

Father-Son Bond On and Off Screen

The Walsh duo first teamed up on screen in 2019 for the popular ITV travel series Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad. The show has since run for five further series, with the latest airing in 2025.

Reflecting on their adventures together, Barney told Express.co.uk, "We actually went through a list of all the things we've done and it's probably about 80 to 100 crazy different activities that we've done over the years." He added that while they are both currently busy with separate projects, they "would love to make more in the future."

Despite not watching his own show, Bradley is a devoted fan of his son's work. He confessed, "I'm an avid fan of Casualty and have loved the series for years. I like how the team has recently made it more cinematic."

No End in Sight for The Chase

Fans of the quick-witted quizmaster need not worry about his departure from the iconic ITV desk. Bradley Walsh has firmly committed to continuing his role on The Chase and its spin-off Beat The Chasers.

Speaking previously to the Daily Mail about his future on the programme, he declared, "Until people say they've had enough and start switching off, I'll do it." He enthusiastically described the job as "the best job in the world."

In the meantime, viewers can enjoy watching the father-son partnership back in action as they return to host the hit BBC revival of Gladiators. The new series begins on BBC One and iPlayer on 17th January at 5.45pm.

The Chase continues to air weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITVX.
