Bradley Walsh faced a new daunting challenge on Friday's episode of Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, where he declared 'I've hurt my arm' during a truck pulling stunt. The 65-year-old presenter and his son Barney, 28, are back on the road for series seven of their ITV programme, which sees them head down under for an epic Australian adventure.
In the new six-part series, the father-and-son duo explore the sweeping wilderness and coastal thrills of Australia. True to form, Bradley gets anything but the rest and relaxation he has been dreaming of, as Barney has put together a jam-packed itinerary brimming with adrenaline-fuelled challenges.
In an early first look clip ahead of this Friday's episode, Bradley and Barney leave the beautiful Blue Mountains. A synopsis teases: 'Barney has an extreme challenge planned for his dad, as they must traverse a ravine on a rope! The boys then head into the countryside and make a stop in the land of sheep, where they learn the art of shearing. Their road trip then takes them to a tiny town where they join the local community who’ve organised a mighty challenge that involves pulling a gigantic truck.'
In the clip, Bradley and Barney get stuck into the truck pulling competition. Barney is placed in the Grasshoppers team while dad Bradley is put in the women's team. As Barney leads a team chant, he adds: 'As long as we beat him, I'll be happy!' Meanwhile, as Bradley leads his team's chant, he ends up hurting his arm. The presenter declares: 'Let's pull' as they throw their arms into the air. However, Bradley is quick to declare: 'Hang on, I've hurt my arm there, I've hurt my arm there doing that!' to which the show's narrator jokes: 'You're supposed to be pulling a truck, Bradley, not a muscle.'
The challenge involves 25 metres, six people, two ropes and a nine-tonne truck. Barney's team gets off to an impressive start, scoring a good time, with Bradley's team having to beat that in order to win. It remains to be seen who will be crowned the champions.
Elsewhere on Friday's show, Bradley pleads 'I don't want to' as he confronts his well-known fear of heights. Breaking Dad first made its debut in 2019 and the series has received rave reviews. Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad series seven will launch Friday 1 May 2026 at 7:30PM on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
