In a hilarious behind-the-scenes revelation, Ant McPartlin has exposed his presenting partner Declan Donnelly's unexpected use of the infamous I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! camp dunny. The disclosure came during a recent live stream from the Australian jungle, where the duo were joined by Unpacked host Joel Dommett.
The Dunny Confession
Ant, 49, didn't hold back when he decided to share Dec's private business with viewers and co-stars. "Dec, did you notice the air freshener when you went to the dunny?" he asked during the broadcast. Elaborating further, Ant explained: "You know Dec goes to the dunny? On the way into camp to announce the names… He's at that age now he can't hold a wee for ninety minutes so he has to go to the dunny."
The 50-year-old Donnelly took the revelation in good humour, offering his own explanation for the necessary pit stops. "Sometimes, if I drink too much green tea during the show, it's got to come out somewhere," he responded with characteristic wit.
The Air Freshener Mystery Solved
The conversation about the camp's notorious toilet facilities came hot on the heels of another jungle scandal involving EastEnders actress Shona McGarty and a smuggled air freshener. Fans had been baffled about how McGarty managed to sneak a full-sized can of air freshener into the camp, with many taking to social media to express their confusion.
One viewer questioned: "I think we're all baffled as to how Shona managed to smuggle a can of air freshener in #ImACeleb," while another simply asked: "How… how did Shona manage to smuggle an entire air freshener into camp #ImACeleb."
The mystery has now been cleared up, revealing that Shona actually took the air freshener from production after a Bushtucker trial. The contraband came to light when the camp received a laminate note informing them they would lose one star from their dinner as punishment for smuggled items.
Camp Amnesty and Consequences
Following the announcement about the reduced rations, the celebrities were offered an amnesty. They were told that anyone smuggling contraband should come forward immediately to avoid further punishment.
It was then that Shona stood up and headed to the dunny, followed by fellow campmate Alex who went to retrieve her bag. Both women then confessed to their rule-breaking and surrendered their banned items.
Alex admitted she only had one packet of salt remaining, having used the others throughout the show. Both apologised to their campmates and crew, ensuring the camp would receive no additional penalties for their actions.
The incident highlights the less glamorous realities of jungle life, even for the show's veteran presenters, proving that when nature calls in the Australian wilderness, even television royalty must answer.
