ITV's This Morning favourite Alison Hammond has secured a major new presenting gig, stepping into the world of one of Netflix's most successful series. The beloved broadcaster will host the official podcast for the highly anticipated fourth season of Bridgerton.
From Daytime TV to the Ton
Hammond, who co-hosts This Morning on Fridays with Dermot O'Leary and is also a presenter on The Great British Bake Off, is a self-professed fan of the period drama. Her new role will see her at the helm of Bridgerton: The Official Podcast, produced by Netflix and Shondaland. The podcast will launch in parallel with the show's fourth season, which premieres in two parts this winter.
Across six episodes, Hammond will sit down with the cast and creative team behind the hit series. Confirmed guests include the season's new romantic leads, Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha. Thompson reprises his role as Benedict Bridgerton, who this season takes centre stage in his search for love opposite newcomer Ha, who plays the mysterious Sophie Baek, also known as the Lady in Silver.
How and When to Tune In
The podcast release schedule is tightly synced with the show's rollout. The first episode will debut on 29th January, the same day the first four episodes of Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1, hit Netflix. Two further podcast episodes will follow weekly.
After a mid-season break, the final three podcast instalments will be released weekly from 26th February, which is when Part 2 of the season arrives on the streaming platform.
For viewers in the United States, the podcast will be available directly on Netflix in video format. Audiences elsewhere, including in the UK, can find the video version on YouTube. For those who prefer audio-only, episodes will also be available on popular platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
A Global Celebration for Bridgerton Fans
The podcast announcement forms part of a wider wave of tie-in events and collaborations from Netflix to mark the show's return. The streamer has confirmed a live-streamed premiere event in Paris on 14th January, as well as fan events in over 20 countries, such as the UK, Australia, Brazil, and Spain.
Netflix's Chief Marketing Officer, Marian Lee, stated: "Bridgerton continues to ignite a passionate global fandom... The excitement for season four is at an all time high and we have many plans to delight and continue deepening our engagement with fans."
Further brand collaborations with names like Dove, Pandora, and Liberty of London are also planned, ensuring the world of the ton extends far beyond the screen this season.
