Alan Carr's Waterslide Wipeout Declared 2026's Best TV Moment by Fans
Alan Carr's Waterslide Fall is 2026's Top TV Moment

Comedian Alan Carr has already provided what fans are calling the television highlight of 2026, thanks to a spectacularly funny waterslide mishap on his new BBC show.

Viral Waterslide Wipeout Wins Instant Acclaim

The moment occurred during Amanda & Alan's Greek Job on BBC One, which aired on Tuesday, 5 January 2026. While taking a break from renovating a property in Greece, Carr was persuaded by co-host Amanda Holden, 54, to tackle a slide called The Black Hole at a local water park.

Holden warned the 49-year-old comedian it would be "pitch black", to which a nervous Carr replied, "That sounds awful!" After asking a lifeguard to "pray for him", he embarked on the ride in a large rubber ring, only to be flipped headfirst out of the inflatable and hurtle comically from the tunnel's exit.

Social Media Erupts with Praise

Viewers immediately took to social media platforms like X and Instagram to celebrate the clip. Despite the year being less than a week old, many declared it the standout TV moment of 2026.

One fan posted on X: "Alan Carr with the highlight of the year already?!" Another agreed, writing: "I know it's only January 5th but Alan Carr falling out of a rubber ring on a water slide is TV moment of the year". The widely shared footage shows Holden in fits of laughter before comforting a towel-wrapped Carr afterwards.

Building on a Stellar 2025

The new series marks Carr's first TV project of 2026, following an exceptionally successful 2025. Last year, he triumphed as the winner of Celebrity Traitors, was tipped as a potential new host for Strictly Come Dancing, and saw the third series of his sitcom Changing Ends air.

His BAFTA-winning charm was on full display during Celebrity Traitors, where his nervous laughter and apparent inability to lie convincingly made him an unlikely but beloved victor. Although linked to the Strictly presenting role, a 2027 tour schedule has since ruled him out for that year's series.

Looking ahead, Carr is set to appear in a Channel 4 competition with Susie Dent and will also compete in Amazon Prime's LOL: Last One Laughing UK. For now, however, his slapstick aquatic adventure has cemented his status as a perennial source of television gold.
