Netflix Thriller 'Unchosen' Features Stars from Happy Valley and Doctor Who

Netflix is set to release a new cult thriller series titled 'Unchosen' on April 21, featuring a star-studded cast including Happy Valley's Siobhan Finneran and Doctor Who's Christopher Eccleston. The six-part miniseries, created by Julie Gearey, follows Rosie, a wife and mother living in a fictional conservative religious community, whose life is upended by the arrival of an escaped prisoner named Sam.

The series explores themes of female emancipation and sexual awakening as Rosie begins to question the strictures of her upbringing. Netflix teases: 'Sam presents himself as Rosie's saviour, but with his dark criminal past, where does the greatest danger lie - with the cult, or with Sam?'

Molly Windsor stars as Rosie, while Asa Butterfield plays her husband Adam, a devout follower of the cult. Fra Fee portrays Sam, the enigmatic fugitive. Siobhan Finneran appears as Mrs Phillips, the cult leader's wife, and Christopher Eccleston plays Mr Phillips, the cult's figurehead. The series also features Olivia Pickering as the couple's hearing-impaired daughter, Grace.
