The Royal Family are gearing up for Trooping the Colour on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The historic event, held annually in London to mark the monarch's official birthday, will feature a parade, a procession, and the traditional balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace.
This year's celebration follows a rehearsal on May 30, which included around 1,000 soldiers and 200 horses from the Household Division and King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, all in full ceremonial dress. After the parade, the royals will proceed to Buckingham Palace and step onto the balcony, greeted by crowds of spectators.
Royals Confirmed for the Balcony
The following members of the Royal Family are expected to appear on the balcony for the 2026 Trooping the Colour:
- King Charles
- Queen Camilla
- The Prince and Princess of Wales (Prince William and Princess Catherine)
- Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis
- The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh (Prince Edward and Sophie)
- Princess Anne
- Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence
- The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester
- The Duke of Kent
Possible Additional Attendees
It remains uncertain whether James, Earl of Wessex, and Lady Louise Windsor will join the balcony. However, James attended Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling on June 6, raising expectations that he may participate this year.
The line-up for Trooping the Colour has remained consistent since 2023, King Charles's first as monarch. In 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II was pictured on the balcony alongside Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.
King Charles will appear alongside his wife, Queen Camilla. Prince William and Princess Catherine, along with their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — are also expected. Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, will join them. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward and Sophie, are also set to appear.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent, who joined the King last year, are likely to return this year. The balcony appearance is a highlight of the event, drawing thousands of spectators to the Mall and Buckingham Palace.
