Meghan Markle Accused of Exploiting Prince Harry's Fame in 'Sickening' Cash Grab

Meghan Markle has faced backlash after a fashion app she invested in posted images from her recent 'quasi-royal' tour to Australia, including a photo of her greeting children with cancer, alongside links to buy her outfits. The move has been described as 'sickening' by royal author Tom Sykes, who said the Queen would never have imagined such a breach of basic human decency.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, launched a page on the app OneOff before the trip, allowing users to shop her wardrobe. After the tour, the site featured a picture of Meghan meeting ill children, with a list of where fans could buy her 'hospital look' for over $2,000. She was also criticised for a photo of the outfit she wore while meeting survivors of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

A spokesperson for Meghan defended the posts, saying the app sometimes pulls images from Getty and that her team has been working to ensure only approved photography is used. However, a source claimed the controversy has caused tension between Meghan and Prince Harry, 41, who feels uncomfortable that a line has been crossed and fears she has become fixated on money.

An insider said Meghan is 'proud' of the 'cash infusion' from the trip, but Harry was taught never to speak about money and sees her constant talk of numbers as 'gauche'. The source added that Harry wishes she would ease up and enjoy what they already have, rather than stressing about the future.

The couple, who met in 2016, have led very different lives. Harry grew up in Kensington Palace, attended Eton College, and received a royal allowance of around $2 million, plus inheritances from his mother Princess Diana and the Queen Mother. Meghan grew up in LA with her mother, a makeup artist and social worker, and her father, a lighting director, and began her acting career at age 21.
