Kate's Overseas Tours: Boston to Belize in Pictures

The Princess of Wales is set to resume international travel with a visit to Reggio Emilia in northern Italy next week, marking her first extended official foreign trip in nearly three-and-a-half years following her cancer diagnosis. As she prepares for this milestone, we revisit some of the most memorable images from her recent overseas tours, captured by Press Association photographers.

Boston (November/December 2022)

In late 2022, the Prince and Princess of Wales travelled to Boston, Massachusetts, for the second Earthshot Prize awards ceremony. During a visit to Greentown Labs in Somerville, Kate and William were presented with flowers by an eight-year-old boy dressed as a Guardsman. The trip culminated with the Earthshot Prize ceremony, where Kate wore an emerald green Solace London dress rented from HURR, paired with glittering heels and jewels from her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas (March 2022)

William and Kate embarked on a Platinum Jubilee tour to Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas in March 2022. At the Mayan ruins of Cahal Pech, Kate wore a vibrant metallic pink dress from The Vampire's Wife. She later stunned in a forest green tulle and sequinned gown at a dinner at King's House in Kingston, Jamaica. The tour concluded in the Bahamas, where the couple met locals during a traditional fish fry on the Abaco Islands.

Copenhagen (February 2022)

Embracing her playful side, Kate slid down a slide during a visit to the Lego Foundation PlayLab at University College Copenhagen, where students training to be early years professionals are encouraged to play. She kept her attire casual with a khaki coat, cream roll-neck jumper, black skinny jeans, and brown boots during a trip to Stenurten Forest Kindergarten. Kate also linked up with the Danish royal family, walking across the Amalienborg courtyard with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

Dublin (March 2020)

During a visit to Dublin, William and Kate met with Ireland's then-president Michael D. Higgins. Kate looked stylish in an emerald green Catherine Walker coat and an Alessandra Rich dress. At a reception hosted by Britain's ambassador to Ireland, Robin Barnett, in the Gravity Bar at Dublin's Guinness Storehouse, she wore a dazzling green dress. The couple also enjoyed a stroll and the scenery at Howth Head.

Pakistan (October 2019)

William and Kate's tour of Pakistan in 2019 began with the then-duchess showcasing her sporting prowess during a game of cricket. Kate ventured to the Hindu Kush mountain range to learn about the effects of glacial melting. There were scenes reminiscent of Diana when the royals were welcomed to the Badshahi Mosque, where Kate opted for a headscarf and traditional shalwar kameez, walking barefoot through the religious site. The couple also visited a cancer facility twice visited by Diana in the 1990s.
