Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are set to make a royal appearance this weekend after missing the royal wedding last week. The three children did not accompany their parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine, to Peter Phillips' wedding on Saturday, but they are expected to attend Trooping the Colour on June 13.
Annual Tradition
The annual event marks the monarch's official birthday and is a tradition the children usually participate in. They typically appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony and take part in the carriage ride, waving to royal fans along The Mall. Prince Louis, in particular, often steals the show with his enthusiastic dancing and waving.
Upcoming Appearance
While their appearance has not been officially confirmed, royal fans are hopeful to see them on Saturday. If they do appear, it will be their first public outing since Easter Sunday, when they attended a church service in Windsor with the royal family. Before that, they were seen on Christmas Day at Sandringham.
Prioritising Education
George, 12, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, eight, make only a few public appearances each year as they are still in full-time education, which remains their priority. Behind closed doors at Forest Lodge, where they live with William and Catherine, the children lead a relatively ordinary life, attending school, participating in sports clubs, and having play dates with friends.
William and Catherine are believed to be committed to giving their children as normal an upbringing as possible throughout their childhood.
