David Haye Slammed as 'Sore Loser' on I'm A Celeb

David Haye Faces Backlash from I'm A Celebrity Viewers Over Controversial Move

David Haye has sparked outrage among I'm A Celebrity fans after attempting to pilfer the rival team's dinner, with many branding him a sore loser. The former boxer, part of the Lions team on I'm A Celebrity...South Africa, made a bold claim following yet another loss to the Rhinos in a camp challenge.

Haye's Cheeky Plan to Steal Food Riles Campmates

In tonight's episode, the 45-year-old ex-sports star targeted the Rhinos' meal, determined to secure better food for his Lions teammates, including Harry Redknapp and Ashley Roberts. As the food was lowered into camp, Haye confidently stated, "I can’t wait for the food to get here. It’s not going to be easy getting up there, but where there’s a will, there’s a way." His plan immediately drew criticism from Olympian Sir Mo Farah, who urged, "Damn, brother. No, I think we should just let them have it… technically, they did win it."

Undeterred, Haye added, "This is the Lions' lair, anything coming in here is getting eaten." However, Coronation Street star Craig Charles overheard the conversation from the other side of the fence and questioned, "You're not really going to steal the bag, are you? You can’t steal the bag off our girls who just won the challenge!" Despite his efforts, Haye was unsuccessful in the theft, but his comments had already ignited a firestorm among viewers.

Viewers Express Fury on Social Media

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans did not hold back in their criticism. One viewer raged, "David Haye can be the first to go. #imaceleb." Another agreed, while a third said, "David Haye stealing the other team's food, oh he IS a sore loser #imaceleb #imacelebrity." A particularly incensed fan fumed, "Let me tell you now if David Haye even threatened to steal my hard-earned food, I would burn that camp to the ground #ImACeleb."

Gemma Collins' Emotional Struggle and Adam Thomas' Support

Meanwhile, the episode also featured Gemma Collins bursting into tears, overwhelmed by the jungle conditions. She told campmate Adam Thomas, "I’m alright, I feel alright mentally, it is just hard. I can’t wash properly. I can’t have anything nice. I've got to wash up every f**king five minutes. I am not used to this. It’s not f**king me." Thomas comforted her, with viewers praising his actions. One said, "Adam looking after Gemma. He's an absolute gentleman. And Gemma girllllll you are doing so welllll, so well." Another added, "And this is why Gemma didn’t cope in the jungle the first time.. at least she’s having a sense of humour in her sadness. Adam is a gem."

Gemma later attempted a trial against Scarlett but lost, telling Jimmy Bullard she tried her best. In a tearful moment with producers, she said, "you're trying to kill me," with Bullard expressing sympathy. Campmates comforted her as she settled in for the night.

I'm A Celebrity...South Africa airs weeknights at 9PM on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player.
