Coronation Street fans have shared what they found 'mental' about Jodie Ramsey's latest scenes, in which she thought she had successfully stolen her older sister Shona Platt's life right from under her nose.
It was a dramatic visit to Weatherfield on Thursday (October 8) as Jodie was finally confronted by Shona and her husband, David Platt, over her sinister behaviour, which ended in a weapon being wielded and a gunshot ringing out.
It comes as viewers have watched the complicated character upping her efforts to take over her sibling's life, after the long-lost sisters were reunited back in January, following the horror crash between those from Weatherfield and the Emmerdale village.
Jodie's seduction plan
Having previously attempted to get in between Shona and David, the latest episode of Corrie featured the dramatic moment when Jodie proved she would stop at nothing to steal her sister's life.
Jodie was seen going all out to seduce David when Shona arrived home, having been given information about Jodie's games by Bethany Platt, but also because David was playing along with her seduction, as he had hidden his phone under a towel, allowing his wife to listen in before she interrupted them.
Confrontation and shooting
As David and Shona confronted Jodie, she struggled to worm her way out of her latest plan, especially after David pulled out her trinket box. Backed into a corner, Jodie pulled out a gun, but Shona and David seemed unbothered as she'd previously convinced them the weapon she had was fake.
Tackling her sister head-on, a scuffle broke out, and Shona ended up pulling the trigger, and a gunshot rang out. It was soon clear that Jodie had been shot, as she clutched her stomach and fell back onto the sofa. A distressed Shona then attempted to help Jodie as she bled out.
Fan reactions
But there was one part of the latest episode that left Corrie fans completely stunned, as Jodie did all she could to get David on side. @SwainsCoat said: "Doing all this for David Platt is mental." @Genius1BCell replied: "It was like an episode of American Horror Story." @boblobblaw69 commented: "Unfortunately, this is so ridiculous and camp that she's starting to win me round again." @GTaylforthUK added: "David Platt is #Corrie's answer to Max Branning… question is WHY?! #EastEnders."
