McDonald's 2025 McHappy Day Anthem Features Children's Voices for Charity
McDonald's 2025 McHappy Day Anthem for Charity

McDonald's is amplifying its charitable efforts for next year's McHappy Day celebration by partnering with one of Australia's most prominent electronic music acts. The fast-food giant has enlisted Mashd N Kutcher to create an uplifting anthem that will raise crucial funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities while celebrating community spirit, courage and kindness.

The Heartfelt Collaboration

What makes this musical project particularly special is the inclusion of genuine voices and laughter from children currently staying at Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane. The track captures authentic moments of childhood joy, from dinner table conversations and playground giggles to the children's own rendition of McDonald's famous 'ba da ba ba ba' jingle.

Matt James, frontman of Mashd N Kutcher, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, telling Daily Mail: "This marks our first involvement with McHappy Day, and we were absolutely thrilled when McDonald's approached us to create a song for this important occasion. Of course, we immediately agreed."

Creating Music from Joyful Moments

The electronic duo, renowned for their energetic performances and innovative musical style, received a special invitation to visit the Ronald McDonald House in Brisbane. There they met with families and children, transforming precious sounds from their interactions into musical elements for the anthem.

"We brought instruments including keyboards and percussion equipment to the House and encouraged the children to have an impromptu jam session," Matt explained. "We recorded these spontaneous moments and skilfully incorporated them into the final track. Listeners aren't just hearing music – they're experiencing the children's genuine joy, laughter and voices blended with our sound."

James described the experience as profoundly moving and inspirational. "Meeting these families and witnessing their strength and positivity during challenging times created memories I'll always cherish. That powerful energy directly influenced the uplifting tone of our composition," he shared.

Supporting Families Nationwide

Developed in collaboration with McDonald's Australia, the anthem aims to highlight the vital work of Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provides support to more than 69,000 families annually across the country.

Matt expressed his amazement at learning about the charity's extensive impact. "Each House genuinely serves as a home away from home for families during their times of need. Understanding this profound impact and having the opportunity to share it with our audience feels incredibly special," he remarked.

The track has now been officially released and will play in McDonald's restaurants throughout the nation. Matt reflected on the recording process: "Watching the children's faces light up while they played instruments, shared laughter and even sang the Macca's jingle was pure magic. We felt privileged to bring some fun into their day, and I believe that magical quality radiates throughout the song."

When questioned about his personal McDonald's preferences, Matt laughed and revealed: "I'd have to choose a Big Mac – especially this year, since two dollars from every Big Mac sold will be donated directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities."

McHappy Day 2025 will take place on Saturday, November 15, with two dollars from every Big Mac purchase contributing directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Meanwhile, Mashd N Kutcher are preparing to release their second album early next year, describing it as "full of high-energy dance records with significant rock influences." The duo plans to tour both across Australia and internationally in 2026.
