Gordon Ramsay's Wedding Speech 'Takes Swipe at Adam Peaty's Family'

Gordon Ramsay reportedly made barbed comments about Adam Peaty’s parents during the Olympian’s wedding to his daughter Holly. The swimmer, 31, and Ramsay’s model daughter, 25, married at Bath Abbey on Saturday, with a reception at Kin House in Wiltshire. Adam’s mother Caroline, father Mark, and brothers James and Richard were absent due to an ongoing feud.

According to The Sun, Ramsay, 59, waded into the family drama during his speech. He told Adam he was a “lucky man” and said: “Look at Tana and that’s what you have to look forward to.” In a dig at Adam’s absent parents, he reportedly added: “Shame you don’t have the same.” Ramsay also said his wife Tana will “be a good mum to them both”.

Adam, believed to have blocked much of his family, had only his sister Bethany from his family at the wedding. He reportedly did not mention his family in his speech, instead praising his swim coach Mel Marshall for being his “everything”. A source told The Sun: “This was the Ramsays’ plan all along. They wanted Adam’s family gone and they have succeeded.”

Adam’s estranged aunt Louise reportedly sent him a blistering text on the wedding day, reading: “I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through… Shame on you both.” His great aunt Janet, 73, told The Sun: “I just feel so sorry for Caroline.” Caroline was not invited to Holly’s hen do and was subsequently uninvited from the wedding.

On the day, most of Adam’s family spent the day at home in Staffordshire, 150 miles away. His father Mark was reportedly told he could come but would have to stay at the back of the venue. Adam’s brother James shared a cryptic photo outside Bath Abbey on the day; he was previously arrested over allegations of sending threats to Adam during his stag do.
