Leigh-Anne Pinnock Reveals Heartbreak & How Therapy Saved Her Marriage to Andre Gray
Leigh-Anne Pinnock on heartbreak, therapy and saving marriage

Former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock has given a raw and honest account of a painful period in her marriage to footballer Andre Gray, revealing she was left 'heartbroken' by a betrayal that shattered her trust. In a candid conversation on Paloma Faith's Mad Sad Bad podcast, the 34-year-old star explained how the couple, who married in June 2023, navigated the crisis after Gray committed to therapy and personal change.

A Journey Through Heartbreak and Healing

Leigh-Anne described the profound hurt she experienced, stating that heartbreak from someone you are 'madly in love with' is particularly devastating. She pinpointed the core issues as a 'loss of trust' and a betrayal stemming from a lack of total honesty. The couple, who welcomed twins in August 2021, found their relationship tested, but Pinnock emphasised that Gray's willingness to change was the pivotal factor in their recovery.

'Well, I think that person has to want to change and he did,' she told Faith. 'You can go through things in a relationship, but if they aren't willing to change for you, forget it. They have to do the work.'

The Turning Point: Therapy and Time Abroad

The singer detailed how a significant shift occurred after Andre Gray moved abroad to play for Aris Thessaloniki in Greece. The physical distance and time alone prompted a period of self-reflection for the footballer. 'He went to therapy,' Leigh-Anne shared. 'He started playing abroad and he had more time to himself to kind of look and realise that everything that he was doing was not how you make a relationship work. It's selfish.'

She first hinted at these struggles in a TikTok video in June 2024, where she revealed her husband had 'broke her heart' early in their relationship but that she had 'learnt the power of forgiveness'.

The Power of Forgiveness and Moving Forward

Addressing those who might question her decision to stay, Leigh-Anne argued that forgiveness should not be seen as weakness. 'I'm still with the person who broke my heart and he went out of his way to change for me,' she said. 'If you can actually get to the other side and make it through it, it makes it all worthwhile.'

She stressed the importance of discernment, however: 'It is OK to give somebody another chance but it isn't OK to let somebody take the piss out of you. Make sure you have those barriers up to protect yourself.' The couple's perseverance has led them to a 'really beautiful place' in their marriage today.

In the same wide-ranging interview, Leigh-Anne also made startling claims about her former record label, Warner Records. She alleged she was 'ghosted' and subsequently dropped after a fallout, with the label's head hanging up on a call before she could get an explanation. She is now releasing music independently, with her debut solo album My Ego Told Me To scheduled for release in February 2026.
