Bad Bunny has teased his upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance with a new video trailer promising “The world will dance.” The 31-year-old Puerto Rican artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez, will headline the show on 8 February at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The trailer, set to his 2025 single “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” shows the singer dancing with people from diverse backgrounds. Fans have interpreted the unity-themed video as a response to the backlash he received from some MAGA supporters after his announcement as the halftime performer.
Bad Bunny will be the first solo male Latin artist to perform in the high-profile slot and is widely expected to deliver the first halftime set entirely in Spanish. In October, President Donald Trump claimed he had “never heard” of the artist, later criticising him on Newsmax.
Fans have taken to social media to predict record-breaking viewership. One wrote on X: “People in the world who have never seen the Super Bowl because they don't follow that sport are going to see it because of Bad Bunny. The most-viewed halftime show of all time.” Others echoed similar sentiments on Instagram.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell defended the choice, saying it was “carefully thought through” and that Bad Bunny “understands the platform.” Bad Bunny himself has said the performance is for “all Latinos and Latinas across the world” and “an achievement of everyone.”
