Howard Donald has teased Take That fans with news of a new album just days after the band concluded their spectacular Circus Live 2026 tour, a revival of their iconic 2009 show. The singer posted a photo on Instagram Story showing himself in a recording booth, captioned: "Work doesn't stop! @takethat #TTALBUM."
Circus Live 2026: A Record-Breaking Revival
The tour, which featured Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald, rebooted the original Circus Live from 2009, one of the band's most celebrated productions. The show included fire-breathers, stilt-walkers, clowns, acrobats, tap dancers, and a 30-foot-tall mechanical elephant. The original 2009 tour broke UK records as the fastest-selling tour in history, selling over 600,000 tickets in under five hours and attracting over one million fans to sell-out shows across the UK and Ireland.
The 2026 stadium run began at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium in May and continued across the UK, including four homecoming shows at Manchester's Etihad Stadium, before ending in Dublin on Saturday night (July 4). Fans have called it the greatest show in Take That's 36-year history.
New Single and Upcoming Album
On Friday (July 3), Take That released their new single, "Sweet July," following "You're a Superstar" as the second hit from their upcoming 10th studio album, due later this year. Howard's studio post confirms the band is already moving on to their next project.
Gary Barlow, 55, reflected on the tour's end, posting on Instagram: "And another tour comes to a close. Somehow, this one feels a little different. With the other tours, it’s always comforting to know there will almost definitely be a next time. But I’m pretty sure this tour won’t return. I was 38 when we originally did this show, and I have to say it’s been a whole other challenge doing it as a 55-year-old. I just can’t see a way I could physically do this show again." He added: "So, it’s with an extremely heavy heart that I leave The Circus in my past. I got to run away with The Circus twice. Now I’m running towards our next exciting, brand new show."
