Pete Davidson Gets New Face Tattoo After $200K Removal
Pete Davidson Adds Face Tattoo After Removal Spree

Pete Davidson has gotten a new face tattoo after paying a fortune to remove his numerous body tattoos. The comedian flashed the name 'Scottie' by his ear, barely visible behind his sideburns, during a Las Vegas appearance.

New Ink in Las Vegas

The word 'Scottie' was written in black capital letters and displayed vertically. Davidson wore casual clothing along with his Crocs Classic Clogs while on stage in Las Vegas. On Wednesday, he also showed off the new ink when he picked out baby pink Crocs with a Jibbitz of his face on them as he joined a 'Wonderfully Unordinary' evening in New York. The event highlighted the brand's playful approach to self-expression, according to Crocs.

Years of Tattoo Removal

The star has spent six years and a reported $200,000 to remove numerous marks, according to People. 'He just woke up one day and wanted them gone, and it's been a years-long process,' a source revealed. Davidson opted to remove his tattoos as a 'fresh start,' a second insider told the outlet. 'Things are really going well for him, everything is moving in the right direction, and he's been receiving fantastic reviews for the movie,' the insider added.

Painful Process

During an appearance on Today, Davidson opened up about how excruciating the tattoo removal process has been, describing it as 'pretty terrible.' 'So if anybody out there is watching and thinking about getting a tattoo, make sure you really want to get it,' he said while showing the faded body art on his arm. 'It's pretty gone.'

The actor, who began the removal process in 2020, revealed that getting sober sparked his desire for a full transformation, including his appearance. 'I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror and I was like, "Nah. Who that?" I was like, "I got to change it up a little bit."'

Career Motivation

Davidson checked into a wellness facility for mental health treatment in late July. Back in 2021, he confirmed that he was 'burning off' his tattoos to get more film roles. During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actor said he wanted his tattoos removed to avoid spending 'three hours' in makeup every day covering them up. 'I honestly never thought that I would get the opportunity to act and I love it a lot,' he said. 'You have to get there three hours earlier to cover all your tattoos, because for some reason, people in movies, they don't have them that much.'

Pete admitted the process of getting his ink removed is 'worse' than the pain of getting the tattoo itself. 'So now I'm burning them off, but burning them off is worse than getting them. Because not only are they burning off your skin, but you're wearing these big goggles, so you can't see anything and the doctor's in there with you,' he told Seth. 'So before he goes to laser each tattoo, you have to hear him announce what the tattoo is to make sure if you want to keep it or not. So I'll just be sitting there all high off of the [nitrous oxide] … and then all of a sudden I'll just hear, "Are we keeping the Stewie Griffin smoking a blunt?" And then I have to sit there and be like, "No, Dr. G."'
