Maura Higgins Lands Spot on Dancing With The Stars After Traitors Success
Maura Higgins Joins Dancing With The Stars US Cast

Maura Higgins is set to star on the American version of Strictly Come Dancing, as she continues to take over screens in the US. Dancing With The Stars announced the first two celebrities set to appear in the competition, revealing that the Love Island star and Ciara Miller, from Summer House, would be appearing on the ABC reality competition show.

The first two contestants were announced during a Get Real event on Wednesday. The full line up for the show, including Maura and Ciara's partners, is set to be announced in the next few weeks.

UK fans will know Maura best from her explosive 2019 appearance in Love Island season 5, which saw her cause chaos in the villa, as well as make up hilarious catch phrases, and make it to the final with Curtis Pritchard. Since this appearance, the star went on to appear in Dancing on Ice in 2020, Cooking with the Stars in 2022, and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2024.

She then managed to break America as she served as the social media presenter for Love Island USA and Love Island Games in 2023, before going on to present Love Island USA: Aftersun from 2024, and Love Island Games: Aftersun since 2025. She became a household name after appearing in The Traitors US in 2026. The star made it to the final with Rob Rausch, but was blindsided by her best friend in the game as he revealed at the very end that he too was a traitor.

This recent announcement about Dancing With The Stars has secured Maura's celeb status, with the show having several famous alumni. Kim Kardashian, Zendaya, Mr. T, Buzz Aldrin, Pamela Anderson, Nicole Scherzinger, Priscilla Presley, Patti LaBelle, and Billy Ray Cyrus are some of the A-listers who have previously graced the ballroom floor. The series is set to return in the autumn with Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough returning as hosts and Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli serving as judges.
