Laura Dern has been cast in the upcoming fourth season of HBO's The White Lotus, following Helena Bonham Carter’s sudden departure from the series.
Helena Bonham Carter exited the show shortly after filming commenced in France, with HBO stating that the character created for her “did not align once on set”. Dern's casting reunites her with The White Lotus creator Mike White, with whom she previously co-created and starred in the HBO series Enlightened from 2011 to 2013.

The fourth season is currently being filmed on the French Riviera, with locations including Cannes, St Tropez, and Monaco. The storyline will feature a new group of wealthy hotel guests during the Cannes Film Festival.
The ensemble cast for the new season also includes notable actors such as Steve Coogan, Rosie Perez, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, and Kumail Nanjiani.
