Vinted Buyer Shocked by Incontinence Liner Box Packaging

A Vinted customer who went to collect a parcel has expressed her shock after discovering what her Vinted item had been wrapped up in by the seller. Bargain hunter Caroline Butler took to Instagram to share her astonishment at the packaging surrounding her new clothes.

"It's been a while since I've had some dodgy packaging, but this takes the biscuit," she began in a video filmed in her car. "I just went to pick it up – it's a blouse – hopefully it is okay on the inside, but this is what they decided to send it in." Acknowledging that some of her viewers might deem it "genius", Caroline, from Norfolk, was less than impressed.

"I'm sure some will see it as a great way to recycle and others are going to be horrified," she quipped. Indeed, holding the packaging aloft, Caroline revealed a box of Tena Lights Sensitive incontinence liners. "They sent it to me in this," Caroline continued. "It's a Duo Pack of Tena Lady! I mean it's definitely resourceful." Seeing the funny side, however, Caroline added that the "man in the shop did have a laugh" about it.

As for the blouse, she removed it from the box and exclaimed: "Well, it smells all right and that's always a bonus with Vinted, isn't it?" Caroline closed: "It's a brand new with tags Boohoo blouse and it cost me £2. And I got a large Tena Lady box. Pretty good value!"

The video, which went viral racking up 26,000 likes, was met with a mixed response. Some Instagram users poked fun at the packaging, while others advocated for those who suffer from incontinence. "I mean I suppose it wouldn't get stolen in transit!" one person joked. A second replied: "Haha I got a top from Vinted a few weeks ago and it came in a dog food box!" While a third laughed: "Just be glad you bought a top and not shorts or trousers!"

On the other hand, one individual pointed out: "Don't be horrified by incontinence. You will get it eventually. Also, what they've done is packaged the item in an environmentally friendly way." Another noted: "Better than buying a new plastic bag that will just go in the bin. Hats off to the Vinted seller!" And a third supporter hit out: "Honestly, the comments on this are just ridiculous (unsurprising, but still ridiculous!). Repurposing packaging is a great help to the environment. This is a clean, perfectly sized box. The rest of the judgment on this post is what feeds into people feeling shame around very common issues, not talking about them or accessing healthcare when needed."
