Mission Impossible star Ving Rhames was rushed to hospital after collapsing at a restaurant in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The 66-year-old actor fell ill at Granville restaurant while dining with his family, requiring immediate medical attention.

Collapse and Emergency Response

A representative later explained that Rhames had 'overheated' and remained under observation before being released later that day.

The Los Angeles Police Department also confirmed the incident to the Daily Mail. After his release, the representative told TMZ that Rhames felt 'fine' and was 'making jokes'.

Career and Previous Incidents

Best known for his role alongside Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible franchise, Rhames also starred in Pulp Fiction, the Apple TV+ miniseries Dope Thief, and the boxing drama Uppercut. He won a Golden Globe in 1998 for his performance in Don King: Only in America, dedicating the award to the late Jack Lemmon.

In 2018, Rhames revealed that police held him at gunpoint in his own home after a neighbour reported a 'large black man' breaking in. He described the incident on the Clay Clane show, noting that officers apologised after recognising him, but expressed concern about racial profiling.

Rhames continues to be a prominent figure in Hollywood, with his recent health scare thankfully ending well.
