Una Healy Denies Throuple Rumours with David Haye

Saturdays singer Una Healy has firmly denied allegations that she was part of a three-way relationship, or 'throuple', with former boxer David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne in 2023. In a candid interview, the 44-year-old star opened up about the experience, revealing it taught her valuable lessons about personal boundaries and what she will no longer tolerate in romantic partnerships.

Setting Non-Negotiables After a Challenging Experience

Speaking to The Sun, Healy addressed the persistent rumours that swirled around her involvement with Haye, 45, and Osborne. She admitted that while she hasn't had the "best track record" in romance, she has now established clear "non-negotiables" for future relationships. "I've moved on so long ago from all that," she stated, emphasising her growth from the situation.

"You live and learn in life," Healy continued. "I think that I've learned now what I don't want and I'm going to have my non-negotiables, what I will not tolerate or put up with. I don't want to do the whole situationship thing. I've done that, I tried that. It's not very fulfilling." The singer even revealed she has written a song inspired by these reflections.

The Origins of the Throuple Speculation

Rumours intensified after a holiday picture featuring Healy, Haye, and Osborne was shared publicly, an image Healy reportedly finds distressing. David Haye had previously hinted at a polyamorous lifestyle in a 2023 Valentine's Day Instagram post, where he paid tribute to the "queens in my life". He maintained that his private life should remain confidential, stating, "What I do behind closed doors is between me and the girls involved".

However, Healy later clarified that while she was in a relationship with Haye, she felt "hoodwinked" into the dynamic. She insisted there was never any romantic involvement between her and Osborne, directly contradicting the throuple narrative. "It was casual, it wasn't serious," Healy explained on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast. "He was very honest that I wasn't the only woman he was seeing... I knew he wasn't husband material, just a bit of fun."

Clarifying the Nature of the Relationship

Healy detailed that she first connected with Haye on the celebrity dating app Raya, where he claimed to be single but expressed scepticism about traditional relationships. Despite initial hesitation, the mother-of-two, who was previously married to Ben Foden, went on several dates with him. She described Haye as polyamorous and not one to use labels like "girlfriend", but stressed that her interaction with Osborne was purely platonic.

"I did meet [Sian] and she was a really nice girl but there was nothing going on there so it wasn't a throuple," Healy asserted. "I wasn't romantic with her, I don't really know her." Following the viral spread of the holiday photo three years ago, Healy announced she was single and removed all traces of Haye from her social media accounts.

Broader Context and Similar Experiences

The speculation around Haye's relationships isn't isolated to Healy. Fellow I'm A Celebrity star Helen Flanagan also discussed her own involvement with Haye, noting she had to Google the term "throuple" to understand it. In her autobiography, Flanagan made it clear she was only interested in Haye, not a polyamorous arrangement, and the pair split in December 2023.

Healy's experience has evidently shaped her outlook on love and self-respect. As she focuses on raising her two children, she joins many single parents navigating similar challenges, having emerged from this chapter with a stronger sense of her own boundaries and deal-breakers in relationships.
