La Voix Ready for Strictly Hosting Role, Names Co-Host

Exclusive: Strictly's La Voix Ready to Step into Hosting Role with Co-Host in Mind

Strictly Come Dancing is searching for two brand new presenters following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, and former contestant La Voix has declared herself ready to waltz straight into the role. The fan-favourite drag performer, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, says she's actively "manifesting a presenting role daily" after her memorable stint on the show last year.

"I'd Clear the Diary" for Strictly Return

"Yes I have had the call from the BBC," the 46-year-old star jokes. "It wasn't about presenting... it was about moving my car from a parking bay when I was doing Morning Live." Behind the humour lies serious ambition. "I'm absolutely holding out for any involvement in that show. I loved it," she reveals. "People say to me, 'Would you do it?' Of course I would! It would be the most amazing presenting role - whether the main show or It Takes Two. Not many people get to go back."

La Voix emphasizes she would prioritize Strictly over other commitments, stating: "I'd clear my diary for that." The race for the coveted hosting positions has intensified with several high-profile names including Graham Norton, Alison Hammond and Amanda Holden ruling themselves out. La Voix responds with characteristic wit: "Did they get asked? If I don't get it I'll say that. It's the oldest trick in the book."

Dream Co-Host and Rival Considerations

The drag star has already identified her ideal co-host, naming television personality and singer Jane McDonald. "Jane McDonald would be a great side kick," she says. "I'd like someone camp and fabulous." Another name firmly in the mix is former contestant and It Takes Two host Zoe Ball, with whom La Voix shares a long history. "I did Zoe's make-up for years. Then she got a job on radio, the death knell for make-up artists."

Of other potential rivals, she jokes: "How camp do we go? Su Pollard? I'd like someone that doesn't challenge my glamour. I want the bling to come off my jewellery, not Rylan's teeth."

Memorable Strictly Journey and Judge Dynamics

La Voix was a hit during her 2025 Strictly run alongside professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, reaching the prestigious Blackpool week before a foot injury forced her withdrawal. Despite not being the strongest technical dancer, she won over audiences with hilarious exchanges with Tess Daly and attempts to take over Claudia Winkleman's autocue.

Viewers particularly enjoyed seeing her spar with acid-tongued judge Craig Revel Horwood. "That old puppy dog. There's no worries there at all," she says of the show's "Mr Nasty." "Craig is like a Rottweiler in a care home sat at the end of that desk. Leave it to me to bring some youth and vibrancy to the show."

However, it was head judge Shirley Ballas who left the most lasting impression. "Nothing will ever be as scary as doing a cha cha in front of Shirley Ballas after getting a two. It's onwards and upwards from now! That show was a beautiful personal moment for me. To have that level of acceptance from the British public was amazing."

Post-Strictly Career and Upcoming Performances

Since leaving the ballroom, La Voix has achieved another career milestone by following in Craig Revel Horwood's footsteps to take on the role of Miss Hannigan in a touring production of Annie. "My dream was always musical theatre, so to headline as Miss Hannigan is a huge jump forward," she explains. "I thought I'd spend years in an ensemble cast, so it's wonderful. I'd love to take on more roles. But only if Strictly doesn't happen!"

Next month, La Voix will perform as part of TUI's Marella Cruises 30th birthday celebrations alongside artists including Pixie Lott, Lemar and BoyzLife. "It's a joy to perform on a cruise ship. Everyone's in a fantastic mood," she says. "I'll be celebrating with my impersonations of Shirley Bassey, Cher, and if you've never seen my Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart finale let me tell you it is world famous."

She adds with typical humour about cruise ship audiences: "When people get nervous, what I like doing is to walk past the buffet and by the salad and shout 'iceberg!' And then say, 'Oh I'm talking about the lettuce.' That's a great way to settle people in I always think."

Comedy Philosophy and Future Aspirations

Ultimately, La Voix emphasizes that making people laugh remains her primary focus. "The world can be so unfunny and sometimes you can't see a place where you will fit in. There's space to forget our troubles for an hour or two and that's what I pride myself on in my shows," she reflects.

"I adore making people laugh. After getting the break somewhere like Strictly it feels like the world is my oyster and I want to keep on flying that flag and make everyone laugh at me or with me, I don't mind which as long as you're laughing." Whether she lands one of television's most coveted presenting roles remains to be seen, but La Voix has made her ambitions crystal clear to BBC producers.
