Teyana Taylor Reveals She Was Leonardo DiCaprio's Viral Golden Globes Partner
Taylor Solves Mystery of DiCaprio's Viral Globes Moment

A viral off-air moment from the 2026 Golden Globes ceremony has finally been explained, putting an end to online speculation. The clip, which showed Leonardo DiCaprio in an unusually animated conversation during a commercial break, was a topic of much debate among fans and viewers.

The Viral Clip That Sparked Speculation

Following the ceremony on Sunday, 11 January 2026, a short video began circulating widely on social media platforms. It captured DiCaprio, 51, playfully pouting, flicking his hair, and seemingly excitedly discussing something with a person just off-camera. Initial theories suggested he was talking to his One Battle After Another co-star, Chase Infiniti, a noted K-pop enthusiast, potentially about the hit Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters.

However, the mystery was solved on Tuesday, 13 January, when actor and singer Teyana Taylor, 35, set the record straight in an interview with Access Hollywood. "He’s talking to me, yes," the newly minted Golden Globe winner confirmed, admitting the whirlwind of the evening had made details fuzzy.

Taylor's Account of the K-Pop Celebration

Taylor explained that the interaction was born from her own excitement after KPop Demon Hunters won the award for Best Animated Film. "I want to say we might have been talking about KPop Demon Hunters, because I was so happy when they won, because my kids love KPop Demon Hunters," she shared.

She recalled jamming enthusiastically when the film's song, 'Golden', played. "So I was over there just jamming and I think he caught me jamming and that’s when we started talking about it," Taylor said. Her memory of DiCaprio's exact words was hazy: "I just don’t remember what he was saying. I probably was just laughing and keekeeing back and had no clue what he was saying."

In the now-famous clip, DiCaprio can be seen mimicking her reaction, saying, "I was watching you with the K-pop thing. You were like, ‘Who’s that? Is it... Oh, K-pop!’"

Revealing DiCaprio's "Real Personality"

The charming, unguarded moment was a delightful surprise for fans accustomed to the actor's famously calm and private public demeanour. Throughout the ceremony, host Nikki Glaser had even poked fun at DiCaprio's elusive nature. The viral clip offered a rare glimpse behind that composed facade, with many online commentators praising it for showing his "real personality" and playful side.

DiCaprio attended the event with the cast and crew of One Battle After Another, the Paul Thomas Anderson film which led the nominations with nine nods. Although DiCaprio lost the Best Male Actor in a Film – Musical or Comedy category to Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), the night was a triumph for Taylor. She won her first Golden Globe for her supporting role in the film, delivering an emotional speech thanking Anderson for his "vision, trust, and brilliance."

The incident highlights how some of the most genuine and entertaining moments at major award shows often occur off-air and unscripted, captured by chance and shared with a global audience eager for a peek behind the velvet rope.
