Singer-songwriter Talay Riley, professionally known as Mark Orabiyi, has tragically died at the age of 35 after being stabbed in London. The Metropolitan Police were called to an address on Rayleigh Road in Silvertown, east London, at approximately 9 a.m. on Friday following reports of a stabbing. Officers discovered Riley in the garden of the property, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but his family is being supported by specialist officers.

Investigation and Arrests

A man in his 20s was also taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and remains there as of Sunday evening. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Three people were arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday. A 27-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been released with no further action following police questioning.

Fellow musicians have paid tribute to Riley. Stormzy expressed his condolences with a simple 'I'm sorry bro.' Singer Craig David, who collaborated with Riley on his album The Time Is Now, said: 'Sending so much love to you and the family. I will always remember how kind he was to everyone and his friendly smile.'

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the Met's investigation, stated: 'This is a tragic incident and my thoughts remain with Mark’s family and loved ones.' She confirmed that the investigation continues 'at pace' and appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward. 'We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might have CCTV or other footage from the morning of the incident that could assist our investigation,' she added.
