US Air Force and Homeland Security Raid Florida Tomato Warehouse, Reason Sealed

Agents from the U.S. Air Force and Department of Homeland Security raided a tomato warehouse in Sanford, Florida, on Wednesday, but have not disclosed the reason for the operation. The raid targeted Todd's Tomatoes and Wholesale Produce, a family-run business that has operated for 33 years.

Roads leading to the facility were closed as agents searched the premises. Employees were allowed to leave one by one, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The search warrant remains sealed, and the investigation is ongoing, said William Daniels, a spokesman for the Department of Justice.

The agents involved were from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Defense Criminal Investigation Service. The Air Force unit typically investigates serious crimes such as espionage and terrorism, while DCIS focuses on theft of military technology. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was not involved, confirmed spokeswoman Tamara Rice.
