Summer House Stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula Embrace Friendship After Marriage Split

Reality television personalities Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have confirmed that while their romantic relationship has ended, their friendship remains firmly intact. The former couple, who announced their separation earlier this month after four years of marriage, recently appeared together at a public event where they opened up about their new dynamic.

Laughter and Support Through Transition

During an appearance at 92NY to discuss the upcoming tenth season premiere of Bravo's Summer House, both Cooke and Batula emphasised their continued ability to share laughter and jokes. "I think it is, we started off with a good friendship there and a foundation where we're able to just laugh and joke around with each other," Batula noted about their current relationship.

Cooke, 43, echoed this sentiment while acknowledging the challenges of a public breakup. "I don't think anything can kind of prepare you for a big public breakup," he told moderator Emily Orozco. "But I think that more important than anything is just making sure that Amanda is good, and it's just been amazing having her support, because it is not easy."

Co-Parenting Their Canine Companions

The pair's amicable approach extends to their two rescue dogs, Reese and Ryder, whom they adopted together in 2022. Batula, 34, explained that the dogs have adapted well to the new living arrangements. "They're very happy. They actually love being separated and then having some time together," she revealed. "They get tired of each other and then they're like, eh, we're done. And then they wanna go their separate ways."

She added that the pooches "like their alone time, like their mom," indicating that the dogs are thriving under their shared care despite the couple's separation.

Public Announcement and Private Healing

Cooke and Batula publicly announced their split via a joint Instagram statement on January 19, writing: "After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple." The statement continued: "We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing."

Despite the public nature of their careers, they requested privacy during this transitional period, acknowledging the irony while emphasising their need for space. "It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we've always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter," they wrote.

Navigating Their Next Chapter

Both former partners expressed a sense of relief and optimism about moving forward. Cooke shared: "In a weird way, these last couple months, we have been able to laugh a little bit more and embrace this next chapter. It's felt like a weight has been lifted up."

The couple's relationship has been well-documented on Summer House since they met in 2015. Their journey included significant challenges, including Cooke's admission of infidelity in season three, which occurred months before their engagement in September 2018. Despite these obstacles, they worked through their differences and eventually married in September 2021 at Batula's family home in New Jersey, after postponing their original 2020 wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recent reports indicate the couple had been living separately for some time before the official announcement, with Batula attending the L'Oreal Academy Launch Event alone in January and the pair reportedly not spending New Year's Eve together. A source revealed that Cooke hosted a party at Leonetta's speakeasy lounge in New York City while Batula was absent.

As they move forward, Cooke and Batula have pledged to maintain their friendship while focusing on personal growth. Their ability to laugh together and support each other through this transition suggests their bond extends beyond their romantic history, providing a foundation for their future relationship as friends and co-parents to their beloved dogs.
