The glitterball has finally stopped spinning for one of Strictly Come Dancing's most talked-about romances. Professional dancers Nadiya Bychkova and Kai Widdrington have called time on their relationship after nearly two years together, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.
The West End Strain
Sources close to the couple confirm that tensions began to surface during their recent joint performance in the West End production Burn the Floor. While they continued to deliver stunning performances on stage, behind the scenes, their personal connection was fraying.
"They gave it their best shot, but the intensity of working together so closely in the West End show ultimately took its toll," an insider revealed. "The magic they had on the dance floor didn't translate to lasting romance off it."
From Dance Partners to Romantic Partners
The Ukrainian beauty and British dancer first sparked romance rumours in early 2022 after growing close during the Strictly tour. Their relationship became public knowledge when they were photographed looking cosy during a romantic beach holiday in Costa Rica.
Fans had watched their connection blossom from professional dance partners to something more intimate, with their chemistry becoming increasingly evident both during performances and in behind-the-scenes moments.
Professional Commitments Take Priority
Despite the personal split, both dancers remain committed to their professional responsibilities. They are expected to maintain their working relationship as Strictly Come Dancing professionals when the new series launches this autumn.
