Hollywood icon Stefanie Powers has delighted fans by sharing a heartwarming Christmas card featuring her beloved canine companions. The 83-year-old actress, best known for her role in the classic television series Hart to Hart, posted the festive image to her Instagram on Wednesday.
A Glittering Career and Lasting Legacy
Stefanie Powers first found major fame in 1966 when she was cast as April Dancer in the NBC spy series The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.. However, it was her subsequent role that cemented her status as a household name. From 1979 until 1984, she starred opposite Robert Wagner as Jennifer Hart, the intelligent and stylish wife in the hit show Hart to Hart.
The series, created by Sidney Sheldon, followed the adventures of the wealthy, child-free Harts—self-made millionaire Jonathan (Wagner) and freelance journalist Jennifer (Powers)—who solved murders as a hobby. Their household included a streetwise butler named Max, played by Lionel Stander, and their adored rescue dog, Freeway. The show boasted an impressive roster of guest stars including Ray Milland, Tippi Hedren, and Julie Newmar, and later spawned several television films.
Life Beyond the Camera: Activism and Reality TV
Today, Powers is a dedicated animal activist based in Los Angeles. Her commitment to wildlife conservation is deeply personal, stemming from her relationship with film star William Holden. The couple dated from 1972 until his tragic death in 1981. In his honour, she actively supports the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, a non-profit organisation whose main project is an education centre in Kenya.
This passion even led her to appear on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011, primarily to raise funds and awareness for the foundation. In a 2019 interview, she admitted to being happy to be the first contestant voted off, candidly stating she did not find many fellow campmates "terribly interesting" and criticising the show's lack of authenticity.
A Festive Message for the Future
Her recent Instagram post captures the actress in a dark green outfit, surrounded by her four dogs. The accompanying caption wished followers "a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy 2026!" Co-star Robert Wagner also shared seasonal greetings on the same day, posting: "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Wishing you joy, love, and all the blessings this season brings."
Last year, Powers made a rare public appearance at an awards show in Germany, the Gloria Awards, where she was warmly received by fans of her iconic series. The redheaded star, who began her career as a model in the 1960s, continues to be celebrated for her enduring screen presence and her unwavering dedication to charitable causes.
