Samantha Armytage breaks silence on marriage split

Former Sunrise star Samantha Armytage has broken her silence about the unexpected end of her three-year marriage to businessman Richard Lavender, revealing she's embracing a fresh start in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The 47-year-old television personality, who stepped down from her high-profile Sunrise role in 2021, spoke candidly about navigating life after her separation from Lavender, 66, which was announced in July.

A New Chapter Begins

"Life sometimes takes unexpected turns and mine has taken one recently," Armytage shared during an interview with Stellar magazine. "I'm moving into a new house and starting a new chapter."

The media personality has reportedly purchased a property in Sydney's affluent eastern suburbs, marking a significant transition from the Southern Highlands country life she shared with Lavender.

Life After Sunrise

Since leaving her Sunrise hosting position after eight years, Armytage has been focusing on her podcast, Something To Talk About With Samantha Armytage, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Banjo and Betty.

"I'm very lucky that I've got a great family and great friends," she reflected, acknowledging the support system that has helped her through this challenging period.

Looking Forward

Despite the personal upheaval, Armytage remains optimistic about the future. "I'm looking forward to the next chapter and whatever that may bring," she said, demonstrating the resilience that has characterised her career.

The television star married Lavender in a romantic ceremony in the Southern Highlands in 2020, with their separation coming as a surprise to fans and media circles alike.

As she settles into her new Sydney home and lifestyle, Armytage appears determined to face this new chapter with characteristic grace and strength.
