Taylor Swift has claimed the top spot on Spotify's inaugural all-time most streamed artists list, released on Thursday. The pop superstar is followed by Puerto Rican sensation Bad Bunny, who has consistently traded places with Swift at the summit of the streaming platform in recent years. In 2025, Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was named Spotify's most played artist of the year for the fourth time, overtaking Swift.
The Top Artists
The duo's rivalry has been a defining feature of modern streaming: Swift held the top spot for two consecutive years, while Bad Bunny dominated from 2020 to 2023. Drake secures third place on the all-time list, followed by The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Kanye West, Travis Scott, BTS, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, Rihanna, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Juice WRLD, in that order. Spotify did not disclose its data collection methodology when questioned by The Associated Press.
Celebrating 20 Years
To mark its 20th anniversary, Spotify also compiled rankings for the most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks. Streaming now accounts for 82% of music industry revenue in the United States, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Spotify, founded in Sweden in April 2006, is the largest platform, holding over 31% of the global market share. It reports 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across more than 184 markets.
