Former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas has declared today "one of the best days of my life" after his teenage daughter, Scarlett, signed a major record deal.
A Proud Father's Moment
The 41-year-old star shared the joyous news on Instagram, posting a sweet photograph with his 17-year-old daughter. Ryan Thomas penned an emotional caption, writing: "Today is one of the best days of my life. Watching my little girl sign a record deal is a moment I will cherish forever."
He went on to reveal a poignant twist of fate highlighted by Scarlett, his daughter with ex-partner and actress Tina O'Brien. As they arrived at a restaurant to formalise the agreement, Scarlett recognised the venue. "The stars were all aligned today," Ryan explained. "As we turned up at the restaurant to sign the deal Scarlett said 'I’ve been here before dad!!'"
Scarlett's Dream Comes True
The family then discovered an old video from five years prior, showing a young Scarlett standing on a chair in the same restaurant, singing ‘A Million Dreams’ to her family. "Here we are 5 years later making her dream come true," Ryan added, underscoring the full-circle moment.
Scarlett Thomas, who plays Izzy Charles in the revived BBC school drama Waterloo Road, also shared the milestone on her own social media. She posted a clip of herself signing the paperwork, expressing her gratitude and excitement for the future.
"Wow what an experience I have had so far and what an experience I’m about to have," she wrote. "I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity. Today was a life changing moment for me, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes but I can now finally share it with you all."
