Ruby Tuesday Matthews has updated her engagement ring for the third time, showcasing an enormous new diamond. The 32-year-old influencer shared photos of her latest bling in an Instagram post this week, unveiling a 12.59-carat Ashoka diamond that sits prominently on her ring finger. While the price of such a diamond varies by cut and clarity, the hefty gem could sell for as much as $3 million.
Mother's Day Surprise
In the caption accompanying her post, Ruby explained that her fiancé, Shannan Dodd, gifted her the new ring as a Mother's Day present to replace her previous one. 'Happy Mother's Day to me. Came home from China to an early surprise from Shannan and the kids,' the social media star wrote. 'A 12.59ct Ashoka diamond I'd been quietly obsessed with.'
Three Rings, No Wedding
The influencer also shared an image of all three of her engagement rings stacked together on her ring finger, allowing followers to compare their sizes. Ruby then remarked that while her fiancé has given her three different rings throughout their lengthy engagement, which began in 2021, they have yet to walk down the aisle. 'Same man, three engagement rings, still no wedding… but I'm not mad about it,' she wrote.
Ruby revealed her engagement to Shannan back in June 2021 with a photo of them kissing, her left hand drawing attention to the original baguette-cut diamond on a slender silver band. It is unclear exactly when the couple began dating, but Ruby started posting loved-up photos with him in May of that year.
Wedding Plans on Hold
Despite the extended engagement, Ruby admitted earlier this year that walking down the aisle is not a top priority. 'I would love to get married, I would love to make it down the aisle. I feel like it's every girl's dream to maybe one day go down the aisle,' she told the Daily Telegraph in February. However, she added that there are a few things she wants to tick off her bucket list first, such as getting a pool and fixing her cracked floor. 'I did buy a lounge, not wedding related,' she said.
Ruby has just returned to Australia after trying on wedding gowns at a boutique in China, where she was stunned by the prices. 'These pieces are incredible – the quality of this one particular store was mind-blowing,' she said, noting that many dresses cost as little as AUD $500.
