Zach Bryan Deletes X Account Over Fan Joke Backlash

Country music star Zach Bryan has deactivated his X and Instagram accounts following a backlash over a vulgar interaction with a fan. The 30-year-old singer, known for hits like "Something in the Orange," faced criticism after a video emerged showing him shouting a crude joke at a longtime fan in Mississippi.

The Incident

In the video posted on Wednesday, a fan named Logan approached Bryan as he drove a truck with the windows down, asking for a photo. However, Bryan, seemingly quoting a sketch from Netflix's I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, yelled something about a "c**shot." The fan, visibly taken aback, later wrote in the caption: "I got there really early to be at the gates and saw him as I was walking up. I don't take it to heart for what he said, but still calling a fan a c**shot after asking for a photo is kinda crazy."

Logan added that he loves Bryan's music but finds it hard to support someone with "this intention and personality towards others." He emphasized he was not trying to get Bryan canceled but rather showing his "true self."

Bryan's Response

As the video gained traction online, Bryan shared a clip of the incident alongside a snippet from the sketch show on X. He wrote, "you guys are so soft & weird." In a follow-up post, he added, "A world you can’t yell ‘I Think You Should Leave’ references out the window in is a world I don’t want to be in." Shortly after, he deactivated his accounts.

Public Reaction

Criticism flooded the comments on TikTok, with one user writing: "I just dont understand how anyone likes this dude anymore." Another commented, "he gives me 2nd hand embarrassment, like what was the point in saying that. i get that he’s quoting a skit but it’s not even funny." Bryan's representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Previous Controversies

This is not the first time Bryan has faced scrutiny over fan interactions. Last summer, he told a 14-year-old fan to "GOMD" ("get off my d**k") when the fan complained about not receiving an autograph, sparking a feud with fellow country singer Gavin Adcock. Earlier last year, he also argued with a stranger at a bar who was wearing Meta glasses and told him, "You’re going to see some terrible things tonight."
