Christmas Day 2025 saw a host of British celebrities embracing the festive spirit by sharing intimate family moments online, with many opting for the popular tradition of matching pyjamas. Leading the charge were football legend Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen, who set the tone with a classic Christmas Eve snapshot.
The Rooney Family's Gingerbread-Themed Festivities
Just around midnight on Christmas Eve, Coleen Rooney posted a heart-warming photograph of the family gathered in front of their Christmas tree. The clan was dressed in matching pyjamas featuring a playful gingerbread man print. Coleen was pictured cuddling her youngest sons, six-year-old Cass and eight-year-old Kit. Their older brothers, Kai, 15, and Klay, 11, stood alongside them, with father Wayne completing the family portrait. Notably, Wayne and his eldest son Kai chose to wear green T-shirts instead of the pyjama tops.
This was not the family's first festive photoshoot in coordinated nightwear. Earlier in December, they had posed in a different set to promote charity pyjamas sold by Matalan in aid of Alder Hey Hospital. Coleen had commented at the time, “We couldn’t wait to get snug in ours.” Their Cheshire home was also reportedly adorned with thousands of pounds worth of festive lights, illuminating the garden's trees, hedges, and wreaths.
Celebrity Families United in Festive Fashion
The Rooneys were far from alone in their coordinated Christmas style. Influencer and former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague shared a moment with her partner, boxer Tommy Fury, and their daughter Bambi, all wearing matching pyjamas. The photo, which showed the couple sharing a kiss, seemed to confirm they were firmly back together. Molly-Mae captioned her Christmas Eve post, “Just want to soak up this evening,” after mentioning she was preparing to cook dinner for twelve guests on the big day.
Meanwhile, the Beckham family documented their own holiday preparations. Victoria Beckham posted images of David Beckham trimming a tree trunk before bringing it indoors to decorate. She later shared a photo of their daughter, Harper, seemingly writing a letter to Santa, with the caption: “Manifesting her wishes.” A plate with a carrot for Santa's reindeer was visible nearby. The family celebrated together, though their son Brooklyn, now living in America, was absent.
Festive Greetings from Sunnier Shores and Rock Legends
Even from the sunny island of Barbados, Simon Cowell and his wife Lauren managed to find a Christmas tree to pose under with their son, Eric. Lauren's other son was also on the holiday. Lauren noted on Instagram that she didn't manage a full family photo, joking that her dress was “a perfect match with the Xmas tree. Not planned!”
Over on X, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher was among the early risers, posting a simple “Happy Christmas beautiful people LG.” His message was echoed by former bandmate Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs. Beatles legend Ringo Starr also shared festive cheer, posting a video of himself in a Santa hat behind a drumkit with his signature message: "Everybody Merry Christmas. Have a great time. Have a great life. Have a great evening, peace and love peace and love so this is Christmas."
