Renee Zellweger's London Appearance Fuels Ageing Discussion
Academy Award-winning actress Renee Zellweger prompted fresh conversations about natural ageing when she appeared in London this week for the Bridget Jones Scenes Unveiling. The 56-year-old star, looking radiant with minimal makeup and her blonde hair elegantly styled, drew attention for what observers noted as noticeably thinner lips compared to her famous 'bee-stung' pout.
Medical Experts Weigh In on Facial Changes
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr Kahn analysed the photographs for the Daily Mail, suggesting the transformation appears completely natural. 'Her face does look different in these photos but it's likely very natural,' he stated. 'She is getting older and she is losing collagen in her face which may make her features appear more slender. Overall, she looks fantastic for a woman in her fifties and it's nice to see a natural face.'
This isn't the first time medical professionals have commented on Zellweger's evolving appearance. In January, Dr Mark Solomos, known from Channel 4’s 10 Years Younger, told MailOnline he believed weight loss and natural ageing were primary factors. 'I suspect she has had an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) as the eyes are far less hooded now,' he noted, while emphasising she likely maintains a rigorous skincare routine and healthy lifestyle.
A Career Unaffected by Speculation
Despite ongoing public fascination with her changing looks, Zellweger's professional trajectory continues to soar. The Texas native recently starred in the hit sequel Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and appears in five episodes of Hulu's popular series Only Murders in the Building alongside Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin.
The actress has consistently addressed speculation about plastic surgery, particularly after her striking appearance at the 2014 Elle Magazine Women in Hollywood awards. She told Huffington Post: 'Not that it’s anyone’s business, but I did not make a decision to alter my face and have surgery on my eyes. I’m glad folks think I look different. I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.'
Zellweger attributed her changed appearance to better life choices and self-care, explaining she had previously maintained 'a schedule that is not realistically sustainable' before learning to prioritise her wellbeing. While experts like London's Dr Alex Karidis have suggested possible minor procedures like an upper eye lift or Botox, Zellweger's statement and continued success demonstrate her focus remains firmly on her craft rather than public commentary about her appearance.
