A pregnant Aubrey Plaza was glowing as she flashed her bump during a loved-up stroll with partner Christopher Abbott in New York City this week. The actress, 41, who confirmed her pregnancy earlier this month, showed off her growing bump in a cropped white tee as she chatted with Abbott, 41, on a dog walk.
Baby Joy After Personal Loss
Plaza's baby joy comes a little over a year since her estranged husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, died at age 47 in January 2025. Abbott was seen doting on his girlfriend as they walked, months ahead of the arrival of their first child together.
While talking about her past experience with contraception methods, she revealed she and her boyfriend were preparing to welcome a baby together earlier this month. 'There is a baby inside of me right now,' she said on the Smartless podcast. 'Today was a big day. I went to the doctor's today and my dog also went to the doctor's. My dog's getting a scan right now. I got a scan earlier. I'm not kidding.'
She continued: 'She had to get an ultrasound on her stomach and then I got an ultrasound on my stomach and there is a baby in there.' Injecting her signature quirky humor, she joked, 'It already has a cloak and a little hat. I think it's gonna come out.'
Asked if she was 'excited' about becoming a first-time mom, she said she 'always wanted to see what that's all about.' 'It just seems so interesting,' she added.
Public Debut as a Couple
Earlier this month, Plaza and Abbott were pictured together for the first time since their baby news went public. The pair were snapped while celebrating the Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman at the show's opening night afterparty at Katz's Deli in New York City. Prior to announcing their exciting baby update, they had kept their romance under wraps.
The couple first worked together in 2019 on the indie psychological drama Black Bear, followed by the Off-Broadway revival of Danny And The Deep Blue Sea, which ran from October 2023 to January 2024.
Reflecting on Grief
Last August, the Parks and Recreation star reflected on her grief over Baena's death while appearing on former co-star Amy Poehler's podcast Good Hang. She shared: 'Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you. Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I'm okay, but it's like a daily struggle.'
