The ongoing family dispute between Olympic champion Adam Peaty and his fiancée Holly Ramsay has dramatically escalated, with police now involved following alleged threats of violence against the couple.
Wedding Invitation Withdrawal Sparks Family Conflict
This week, it was revealed that Adam's mother Caroline Peaty, 59, has been uninvited from attending her son's Christmas wedding to Holly Ramsay, 25. The decision has triggered an increasingly public and bitter fallout between the Peaty family and the Ramsay camp.
The situation reached fever pitch when sources close to the Ramsays disclosed that threats described as 'horrible' had been made against both Holly and Adam, prompting police involvement. The Olympic swimmer reportedly required armed police escort from his plane at Manchester Airport on Sunday night following concerns he could be assaulted.
Stag Do Disruption and Police Protection
According to reports, Adam was met by five uniformed police officers who flanked him through immigration and baggage reclaim after his flight touched down. Authorities monitored CCTV for suspicious activity, and the athlete was escorted from the building into a waiting vehicle.
A friend close to the situation explained: 'Things escalated over the weekend when someone became increasingly abusive and threatening over text. Adam was trying to enjoy his stag do and was getting freaked out by it all.'
'He then received a threat that he'd be met off the plane. He told Holly who called the cops after consulting with her family.' The friend added that Holly's parents, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana, have been '100 per cent supportive' of the couple throughout the ordeal.
Social Media Warfare and Accusations
Meanwhile, the Peaty family has taken to social media to express their grievances, claiming they've been overlooked from wedding plans because they are 'simple people on benefits' who don't fit the Ramsays' polished image.
Adam's aunt, Louise Williams, launched a passionate defence of her sister Caroline, writing: 'How can Adam and Holly 'source' sit there and say Caroline wasn't invited because of the way my sister looks? She doesn't suit the look Holly is looking for????! WTF BODY SHAMING A 60 YEAR OLD WOMAN!'
She further accused Adam of being 'embarrassed' by his family and his brothers' mental health problems, stating: 'They banned her because she would not apologise re the cancellation of the Bath trip because of the train cancellation and Caroline's refusal to turn her back on her son's, his brothers who both suffer from adhd and mental health problems.'
Hen Do Snub and Family Heartbreak
The conflict intensified when Holly failed to invite Caroline to her hen do at celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse, which was attended by Holly's mother Tana, Victoria Beckham, Adam's sister Bethany, and other close friends and family.
Instead, Caroline remained at home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, looking after her five-year-old grandson George - Adam's child with ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro.
Caroline expressed her distress through cryptic Instagram posts, including one that read: 'When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don't become the cause of it.' She captioned it: 'The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most.'
Louise Williams didn't hold back in her criticism of Holly, posting: '@hollyramsayy I'm so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.'
Lavish Wedding Plans and Financial Disparities
The couple's wedding is scheduled to take place at Bath Abbey, with celebrations continuing at the exclusive Kin House country estate near Chippenham. The venue can accommodate 200 guests with only 12 bedrooms available on-site, and weekend wedding packages start from £32,750.
This has highlighted the financial disparity between the families, with one Peaty family member noting: 'I'm on Universal Credit — I can't afford that. Adam has been changed by money, fame and fortune. He seems to have forgotten where he came from.'
Adam's family background contrasts sharply with the Ramsays' celebrity status. His mother was a nursery manager and his father a supermarket caretaker who made significant sacrifices to support his swimming career from an early age.
As the wedding approaches, the very public feud shows no signs of abating, with police involvement marking a serious escalation in what began as family disagreements over wedding arrangements.
