Reality television icon and entrepreneur Paris Hilton has disclosed that she has been engaged in discussions with pop superstar Britney Spears about the possibility of creating new music together. The 44-year-old media personality, who recently made a return to the pop music scene, described the potential collaboration as a dream project that would be "the most iconic thing ever."
A Potential Pop Powerhouse Duet
In a recent interview with Attitude magazine, Hilton confirmed that conversations about a musical partnership have taken place. "We were talking about doing some fun music," Hilton revealed. "And I was just with her recently talking about music again. So, we'll see what happens. We'll see. That would literally be the most iconic thing ever. That would be a dream come true."
Musical Journeys and Mutual Admiration
Hilton, who released her debut album Paris in 2006 and returned to pop music with her 2024 record Infinite Icon, is currently working on her third studio album. The Beverly Hills native expressed particular admiration for Spears' 2007 album Blackout, which she named as her favourite from the pop star's catalogue.
"It was just her being her," Hilton explained. "And she is one of the strongest women I know. She's the ultimate pop princess icon, with the biggest heart. That album is just so bada**."
Shared Experiences and Strength
The discussion about potential musical collaboration comes amidst revelations that the two celebrities have bonded over their shared experiences of public scrutiny during the 2000s. During an appearance on the I've Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario podcast, Hilton spoke about the "trauma" they both endured and how it has shaped them.
"Yeah. I was just with Britney a few weeks ago for her birthday in Mexico and we were just talking about how cruel and mean-spirited people were back then," Hilton shared. "I feel like she is someone that can relate to that. There are very few people you can relate to on that level on experiencing that. It has made us both so strong."
Reflections on Media Treatment
Hilton reflected on the isolating nature of being in the public eye during that era, noting how the media landscape has evolved. "Back then it was entertainment to tear down women," she observed. "It was very isolating. Because not many people would even understand how it was to be treated that way. It was just so normalized. It was just a normal thing they would do."
The entrepreneur and media personality also shared words of wisdom she would offer her younger self, emphasising how difficult experiences can ultimately lead to positive outcomes. "If I were to go back and speak to my younger self I would say: 'Paris you're going to go through a lot in life and sometimes it's going to be so difficult and scary and hard.'"
She continued: "It's going to be a lot but one day its going to be worth it because you're going to inspire millions of people, you're going to create a blueprint and turn your pain into your purpose and help save the lives of children and women and survivors all around the world."
Looking Forward with Resilience
Hilton concluded with a statement of resilience born from her experiences. "I feel like if you can survive the 2000s ... everything I went through ... I can survive anything." This perspective informs both her personal journey and her professional endeavours, including the potential musical collaboration with Spears that has captured the imagination of pop music enthusiasts.
As Hilton continues work on her third album, the entertainment world watches with interest to see whether these discussions between two of the most recognisable names in contemporary celebrity culture will materialise into a musical partnership that could redefine pop collaborations.
