Paloma Faith Announces Birth of Third Child Following Challenging Delivery

Acclaimed British singer Paloma Faith has publicly announced the arrival of her third child, a baby boy, while revealing she underwent a painful Caesarean section delivery. The 44-year-old artist, known for chart-topping songs like "Only Love Can Hurt Like This," shared the intimate news with her 1.1 million Instagram followers on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026.

Intimate Instagram Reveal and Medical Details

In her emotional social media post, Faith included a tender black-and-white photograph showing her gently holding her newborn son's hand. She wrote in the caption: "On Friday, March 6th, I had my third baby, a little boy. He was a bit early and ended up in NICU (neo-natal intensive care unit) for three days." The singer expressed profound gratitude toward the "incredible" midwives and medical team who supported her throughout the delivery process.

Faith provided candid insights into her postpartum experience, stating: "Today we go home. As usual its not easy, I'm engorged already, day three intrusive thoughts, in love with my partner and my kids more than ever. Just taking it all slow. C sections ARE PAINFUL. He's perfect and wonderful. Breastfeeding is hard." The artist has chosen not to disclose her son's name publicly, nor has she identified the child's father.

Previous Childbirth Experiences and Fertility Journey

The 'Upside Down' performer has been remarkably open about her previous childbirth challenges throughout her career. Following her second daughter's birth in 2021, Faith revealed she lost a litre of blood and experienced "so much pain despite the pain killers." Her first delivery resulted in an emergency C-section that left her unable to walk properly for three months.

Faith has also shared her difficult fertility journey, undergoing six rounds of IVF treatment before successfully conceiving her second daughter. She is already mother to two daughters, born in 2016 and 2021, with her former partner, French artist Leyman Lahcine.

Celebrity Reactions and Recent Public Appearances

The birth announcement prompted an outpouring of congratulations from fellow celebrities and public figures. Claudia Winkleman, host of the BBC reality show 'The Celebrity Traitors,' commented: "Massive congratulations, brilliant news. All love." Comedian Alan Carr, who famously "killed" Faith on the same program before winning the competition, wrote: "Oh how wonderful. Congratulations darling."

Additional well-wishes came from broadcaster Kate Garraway, who added: "Oh this is so so wonderful. Congratulations you fabulous mama and utterly gorgeous brilliant woman." Other notable figures including Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, television personality Fearne Cotton, and musician Jools Holland also shared their congratulations with the new mother.

Faith had announced her pregnancy in October of the previous year, shortly after her appearance on 'The Celebrity Traitors.' The singer continues to balance her music career with motherhood while maintaining her characteristic honesty about the realities of childbirth and parenting.
