Netflix's Outlast: The Jungle Winners Revealed as Duo Bags $1 Million
Outlast: The Jungle Winners Take Home $1 Million

Netflix's Outlast: The Jungle has finally crowned its winning team, with just two contestants securing victory in the highly anticipated finale.

The Netflix series released its initial six episodes last week, leaving audiences awaiting the concluding two instalments, which arrived today (June 17).

For those unfamiliar with the survival programme, Outlast follows 16 strangers deposited into the Panamanian jungle equipped with only essential supplies. They must rely on their intelligence and wilderness expertise to endure whatever obstacles nature presents, though victory can only be achieved collectively. Their combined efforts aim towards securing a substantial $1 million prize pot, divided equally amongst the winning team.

Who Won Netflix's Outlast: The Jungle?

Nikki Hru and Maddy Jones emerged as the competition's winners, each departing with $500,000. They were the sole remaining Team Alpha members after eliminating Leiya Pillitteri from their group on the final evening.

Leiya, 26, is a triathlete experienced in constructing shelters and tools using solely bamboo. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Maddy was raised hunting alongside her father and could "shoot and field dress a deer by the age of 8". Given their combined expertise, it's hardly surprising the duo emerged triumphant.

Nearly half the participants departed the jungle during the opening six episodes, forfeiting their chance at the considerable cash reward. The remaining survivors comprised Sarah Awad, Abby Chu, Morgan Colburn, Braxton Fish, Pharaoh Gayles, Nikki Hru, Maddy Jones, Leiya Pillitteri and Wes Saunders. However, only two ultimately claimed triumph.

Halle Cooley Quit Just Before the Final

Team Alpha's Halle Cooley narrowly missed the grand prize after withdrawing from the contest merely 26 days in. The model recently looked back on her premature departure, confessing the ordeal was "the hardest thing ever". She posted on Instagram: "Even though it was the hardest thing I've ever done, what a freaking experience! I had zero survival skills going in and was terrified. I only relied on my values and work ethic. It's incredible what your body can do when you put your fears aside. This truly made me a better person, and I couldn't be more grateful for the people I was with."

Outlast: The Jungle is streaming on Netflix.
