Osbourne Family's First Christmas Without Ozzy: 14 Gather at His Grave
Osbourne Family's First Christmas Without Ozzy

The Osbourne family is preparing for a poignant and deeply personal first Christmas without their patriarch, the legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne. Fourteen family members will gather at the Buckinghamshire estate Sharon shared with Ozzy before his death, a property that now also serves as his final resting place.

A Proper English Christmas in Buckinghamshire

Daughter Kelly Osbourne, 41, has shared intimate details of the planned gathering, emphasising a return to traditional British festivities. The family will mark the occasion at the home where Sharon, 73, relocated with Ozzy from the United States before his passing. Ozzy died of heart failure at the property on July 22, aged 76, just weeks after a final performance with his bandmates in his hometown.

"We are going to have a proper English Christmas. I always love that," Kelly told The Sun. She lamented the lack of quality Christmas crackers in Los Angeles, noting they will have the real thing this year, along with watching the King's speech. In a touching gesture of unity, she has ordered matching pyjamas for all 14 attendees to wear as they spend the day together in front of the television.

Family Roles and Absent Members

Kelly revealed that the culinary duties for the Christmas feast will fall to Louis, Ozzy's eldest son from his previous marriage to Thelma Riley, while she will act as sous chef. The gathering will, however, be missing some key members. Kelly's brother Jack, who recently returned from Australia after appearing on I'm A Celebrity..., will remain in Los Angeles with his pregnant wife, Aree Gearhart, and their daughter, Maple.

Sharon will fly to LA to be with Jack just two days after Christmas. In a bid to bring some comfort to her mother after a difficult year, Kelly is gifting Sharon a new puppy. This follows the death of Sharon's Serbian Husky, Elvis, in October, which was documented by BBC cameras for a series aired that same month.

Navigating Profound Grief

The festive plans are set against a backdrop of immense sorrow for the family, particularly Sharon. In a recent heart-wrenching interview on Piers Morgan: Uncensored, Sharon confessed she "didn't want to live anymore" after Ozzy's sudden death. She credited her children—Aimee, Kelly, and Jack—with giving her a reason to carry on.

"I would have just gone with Ozzy… Oh, yeah, definitely," Sharon said through tears. "But they've been… unbelievably, just magnificent with me, all three of them." She explained that witnessing the lifelong devastation caused by maternal suicide to other families years ago solidified her resolve never to inflict that pain on her own children.

Sharon described grief as having "become my friend," a constant companion she is learning to live with. She visits Ozzy's grave on the property every day, still unsure of what her future holds without him. As the family prepares to celebrate around his gravesite, Kelly summed up the collective sentiment, telling The Sun: "I just want to get through Christmas without crying."
