The Met Gala, often dubbed the Oscars of the fashion world, once again drew a glittering array of A-list celebrities. However, at this year's event held on Monday, the stars found themselves potentially upstaged by a formidable contingent of nepo babies—the children of famous parents—who made a strong showing on the red carpet.
Leading the Nepo Baby Pack
At the forefront was Maya Hawke, the 27-year-old daughter of actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, who were married for seven years. Maya, who has followed her parents into showbusiness, wore a grey sleeveless dress with a sheer overlay and a floral print. She gained international recognition for her role as Robin Buckley on the hit series Stranger Things and completed her look with a black headband and red heels.
Also in attendance was singer Gracie Abrams, the daughter of Hollywood director J.J. Abrams and his wife Katie McGrath. She stunned in a mermaid dress featuring a structured, bejewelled bodice and a flowing train. Gracie has been in a relationship with Normal People star Paul Mescal since 2024, though he did not attend the event.
Nicole Kidman and Sunday Rose
Nicole Kidman was joined by her 17-year-old daughter Sunday Rose, whom she shares with ex-husband Keith Urban. Sunday's attendance seemingly broke Met Gala rules, as event organizers have previously stated the event is not appropriate for anyone under 18. Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler revealed in 2018 that she was not allowed to attend because she was not old enough. An exception may have been made for Sunday as her mother Nicole was a co-chair for this year's event.
Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter
Another co-chair for the 2026 gathering was Beyoncé, who walked the red carpet with her 14-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. Blue wore a white midi dress and a matching jacket with a dramatic train, accompanying her parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
Other Notable Nepo Babies
Lily-Rose Depp, the 26-year-old daughter of actors Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, turned heads in a grey sleeveless midi dress with a floral embellishment, paired with white and black heels.
Kate Moss's daughter Lila, 23, opted for a champagne-coloured dress with a shimmering embellishment and backless detail.
Hailey Bieber, 29, took to the red carpet in a glamorous outfit from Saint Laurent. While she has become famous in her own right as a model and beauty entrepreneur, Hailey is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and the niece of his brother Alec.
Fellow model Gigi Hadid, 31, was another nepo baby in attendance, wearing a grey sheer Miu Miu gown. She is the daughter of former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid and real estate mogul Mohammed Hadid. Gigi has acknowledged getting a head start in the fashion business thanks to her mother but still feels she had to work hard to succeed. 'My parents told me, just because you have parents who were successful, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't walk into the job being as nice and as hard-working as you can be,' she told the Sunday Times.
Zoe Kravitz, 37, has carved out a successful career as an actress, appearing in films like The Batman, Blink Twice, and Divergent. It is easy to forget that she grew up in the industry as the daughter of singer Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet.
Kylie Jenner, 28, wore a Schiaparelli outfit featuring a daring bodice and a dramatic, flowing skirt. Her sister Kendall, 30, stepped out in a white, figure-hugging dress from Gap Studio by Zac Posen. The sisters have become huge stars in their own right but are the daughters of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner and members of the wider Kardashian family.
David and Victoria Beckham's model son Romeo, 23, rounded out the nepo babies in a classic black suit.
