Martine McCutcheon, the beloved actress best known for her role as Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders, has shared an emotional confession about the challenges of balancing motherhood with her career.
In a heartfelt interview, the 47-year-old star revealed the pain she feels when separated from her 7-year-old daughter, Rafferty, due to work commitments. "I miss my daughter every single day when I'm away," McCutcheon admitted, her voice trembling with emotion.
The Price of Stardom
The actress, who shot to fame in the 1990s, spoke candidly about the sacrifices she's had to make as a working mother in showbusiness. "There are times when I'm filming or performing where I just want to drop everything and run home to her," she confessed.
A Mother's Guilt
McCutcheon, married to musician Jack McManus since 2012, described the "constant mum guilt" that plagues her. "You're always questioning if you're doing the right thing," she said. "But at the same time, I want to show my daughter that women can have fulfilling careers too."
The star, who recently returned to the West End stage, explained how technology helps bridge the distance. "FaceTime is a lifesaver," she laughed. "But it's not the same as cuddles at bedtime."
