Speaking on the How To Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast, Marisa emotionally recounted how Jamie's compassion during this challenging time confirmed he was "the one". She revealed that despite having been together for only a year at that point, he was a constant source of strength.
"He was an immense help and it was one of the moments where I knew that this was the person I wanted to be with forever," Marisa shared. "I think it's equally as important to have someone that supports you when you're up and when you're down. Jamie is great at both."
From RADA to the Altar
The pair first crossed paths while studying at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2016. Their relationship blossomed over the years, leading to an engagement in July 2024 during a romantic stroll through London's Primrose Hill. They later tied the knot in a beautiful manor house wedding in Sussex, followed by a lively reception at Soho House's Brighton location.
Marisa also amusingly recalled a moment she believed Jamie was about to propose during a trip to Paris, only to discover he was genuinely unwell. "I had to play off my disappointment really quickly!" she laughed, highlighting the couple's shared sense of humour.
