Reality TV personality Leisha Lightbody has sent fans into a frenzy by strongly suggesting she has begun a new relationship with a top-flight footballer. The Married At First Sight UK star, 32, dropped cryptic clues on social media, months after her split from show husband Reiss Boyce.
Cryptic Clues and Manchester Hints
Posting a video on TikTok, Lightbody offered only a glimpse of a man's shoulder seated beside her. She captioned the clip "Last plot twist of the year," sparking immediate speculation among her followers. Adding fuel to the fire, she tagged her location as Manchester, a city home to two major Premier League clubs.
When pressed by followers about her mystery man's identity, Lightbody was coy, stating: "I honestly can’t." She did, however, offer a telling compliment, adding: "We love and adore a man who knows what he wants."
From Show Heartbreak to New Romance
This potential new romance comes after a difficult period for Lightbody following her MAFS experience. She and Reiss Boyce decided to continue their relationship after the show's final vows but split after a few months following an argument during a visit to Scotland.
Reflecting on the breakup, Leisha told The Mirror she felt "devastated" and was left with unanswered questions. "I genuinely thought that we were in this fairytale... but actually, he didn't like me as much as I thought," she revealed, suggesting Boyce may not have been emotionally available.
Keeping It Private for Now
A source close to the reality star told The Sun that Leisha is proceeding with caution. "Leisha has spent the summer single but feels she’s finally ready to get into another relationship," the insider said. "It’s too early to tell whether this will work out, but she’s hopeful and excited to see what happens."
The source confirmed that Lightbody "wants to keep his identity under wraps until she knows if it’s the real deal." This desire for privacy aligns with her previous behaviour; while filming MAFS, she mentioned having been direct-messaged by a footballer but assured Reiss she had told the suitor she was in a relationship at the time.
Fans have been supportive of her potential new happiness. One commented: "I really hope you’ve found someone that appreciates your excitement about the future." Leisha replied: "Me too. Thank you so much. 2026, let’s pray." Another fan remarked that her happiness was all that mattered, to which Lightbody responded: "Yes I am happy. Needed the summer to be alone but now things are so good."
