Harry Potter star Louis Cordice has joyfully announced that he is set to become a father of four, revealing that his wife Natalie is expecting a baby girl. The actor, aged 36, shared the heartwarming news on his Instagram, posting an ultrasound image alongside a touching caption expressing his excitement and gratitude.
From Slytherin to Fatherhood: A Family Expansion
Cordice, who portrayed Slytherin student Blaise Zabini in the Harry Potter film series, appeared in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows between 2009 and 2011. After marrying Natalie in June of last year, the couple is now preparing to welcome their third daughter together.
A Growing Family with Adorable Announcements
The actor and his wife are already parents to two daughters: Isla, aged five, and Rose, who is two years old. Additionally, Louis is father to a nine-year-old son named Kaise. To announce the pregnancy, Cordice shared an adorable photo of his two young girls holding a 'Mummy to be' sash with a badge indicating the baby's gender. In his heartfelt Instagram post, he declared that Isla and Rose will be the 'best big sisters'.
He wrote: 'Soon we’ll be welcoming another little girl into our family, and I honestly can’t wait to meet her. In what feels like no time at all, Isla and Rose will have a baby sister to grow up with. They might not realise it yet, but they’re going to be the best big sisters.'
Praise for His Wife and Career Transition
Cordice also expressed immense pride and gratitude for his wife, stating: 'I also just want to say how proud I am of my beautiful wife. Watching her carry our babies and bring three incredible girls into this world is something I will never take for granted. I’m forever grateful to her for the amazing family we’ve built together.'
Following his role in the iconic wizarding franchise, Louis transitioned from acting to a new career in recruitment. He now works as a senior finance recruitment specialist. Despite this shift, he remains connected to the Harry Potter fan community, attending conventions worldwide, from Paris to Mexico, to interact with enthusiasts.
Reflections on Harry Potter and Co-Star Reunions
Speaking about his convention experiences, Cordice previously remarked: 'I'm lucky to travel the world and get to go to conventions, compared to what we see now, meet Harry Potter fans that now have children.' In recent months, he has stayed active in the Potter sphere, hosting a Harry Potter-themed live concert in December and reuniting with former co-stars Tom Felton and Scarlett Byrne in November 2024. Felton played Draco Malfoy, while Byrne portrayed Pansy Parkinson, both Slytherin peers of Cordice's character.
Unexpected Beginnings and Role Evolution
During a convention, Louis opened up about his unconventional entry into the Harry Potter universe. He revealed that he initially served as the student double for Alfred Enoch, who played Dean Thomas, in the second and fourth films. After being dropped from that role due to growing too tall, he secured an agent and landed the part of Blaise Zabini after just three auditions.
'I got into acting originally, I was Dean Thomas' double,' he recalled. 'From there I got an agent and she threw me into auditions and three auditions later I got the part for Harry Potter. So coming back from being a double to being a main character in the films was pretty incredible to be honest.'
His role expanded significantly in the final film, The Deathly Hallows, after actor Jamie Waylett, who played Vincent Crabbe, was axed from the franchise. This led to Blaise stepping into Crabbe's place as one of Draco Malfoy's sidekicks. Waylett's departure followed legal issues, including arrests for growing marijuana and possession of a knife, which resulted in his removal from the cast.
The Legacy of Co-Stars and Continued Bonds
Waylett, who played Crabbe in six of the eight Harry Potter films, faced further troubles, including participation in the 2011 London riots, leading to a two-year prison sentence. Since then, he has not secured new acting roles but joined the video platform Cameo in 2019, offering personalised videos to fans. In contrast, Cordice has maintained friendships within the cast, notably with Gregory Goyle actor Josh Herdman, attending his wedding in 2023.
Reflecting on his return to the Harry Potter set after his double role, Louis expressed gratitude: 'So when I got back to set, I just had to take it all in. Because I had been on the other side and thinking I wasn't going to get to come back. So being back, I just enjoyed every minute of it.'
As Louis Cordice anticipates the arrival of his fourth child, he balances family life with his recruitment career and ongoing engagement with the global Harry Potter community, showcasing a journey from child star to devoted father and professional beyond the wizarding world.
