Kelsey Grammer radiated paternal pride as he made his first public appearance with his infant son during a relaxed Beverly Hills outing on Thursday. The celebrated actor, aged 71, and his fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, 47, were visibly delighted as they enjoyed a lunch date with their newborn, Christopher, who arrived in October and represents Grammer's eighth child, in the exclusive Los Angeles enclave.
A Casual Family Outing
Dressed in a casual ensemble of a cardigan, T-shirt, and sneakers, the Emmy-winning star appeared in excellent spirits despite sporting a brace on his left hand. Walsh, a former flight attendant, looked effortlessly relaxed in a flowing floral maxi dress, her hair styled in a loose bun for the low-key occasion. She was observed tenderly holding the couple's baby boy, who seemed content and cheerful while dressed in an adorable outfit.
Expanding Family and Rekindled Spark
The couple, who have been married for fifteen years, are already parents to three other children together: daughter Faith, 14, and sons Kelsey Gabriel, 12, and Auden James, 9. When their pregnancy was announced in June 2025, a source close to the family revealed to the Daily Mail that the news had "reignited" the spark in their relationship.
"Kelsey is thrilled to finally have time to fully enjoy being a father all over again," the insider disclosed. "He's been incredibly supportive of Kayte throughout this pregnancy, which, though unexpected, has reignited a spark in their marriage that they both needed. This will be their fourth child together, and with Kelsey's other children from his past marriages, their new bundle of joy will have so much love."
Embracing Fatherhood Anew
The source added, referencing the recently cancelled Frasier revival after two seasons, "After giving Frasier one last go, he has hung his hat up on that character and is ready for the next phase of his life. He is looking forward to embracing the hands-on parenting he missed in the past." Grammer himself has reflected on the joys of later-life fatherhood, telling The Guardian in 2018, "Honestly, the beauty of being an older dad is you get a chance to kinda try it again. That's been a real gift."
A Look at Grammer's Family and Career
From previous relationships, the actor also shares daughter Spencer Grammer, 42, with ex-wife Doreen Alderman, and daughter Greer Grammer, 34, with ex-girlfriend Barrie Buckner. He has two additional children with ex-wife Camille Grammer: daughter Mason Olivia Grammer, 24, and son Jude Gordon Grammer, 21.
A Romance That Began in the Skies
Walsh and Grammer's relationship has an unusual origin story. They first met in 2009 when Grammer was a passenger on a London-bound flight where Walsh was working as a flight attendant. Their romance blossomed while the actor was still legally married to Camille Grammer, an alum of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
"We actually met in the air on a plane to England," Grammer recounted to Jimmy Kimmel in 2012. "It was very romantic, she was working on the plane. We went out for coffee several days later and had this magical night in the snow in London around Christmas time." The pair announced their engagement in December 2010 and married just two months later in a romantic ceremony at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on February 25, 2011. Grammer's divorce from Camille was finalized only days prior, on February 10.
Reflections on Marriage and Legacy
Speaking about his fourth marriage at the time, the actor told People, "[It's] like it's never happened before," later describing Walsh as "fantastic." Grammer's professional legacy is firmly tied to his iconic character, Frasier Crane. He first introduced the character on NBC's Cheers, where Frasier was initially intended for a brief six-episode arc before becoming a series regular and beloved figure.
He later reprised the role in the spin-off series Frasier, which followed the psychiatrist back to Seattle as he hosted a radio advice show. The series, also starring David Hyde Pierce as Niles, John Mahoney as Martin, Peri Gilpin as Roz, and Jane Leeves as Daphne, ran for eleven successful seasons from 1993 to 2004, cementing its place as one of the most triumphant sitcom spin-offs in television history.
